Salted Caramel Smoothie

This smoothie has great fat from the cashews and coconut milk and energy from the banana, dates and maple syrup. It’s a great choice to fill hungry bellies, satisfy a sweet craving or quench a thirst. As with all recipes that use natural forms of sweeteners, remember that your body processes the energy from these foods the same as sugar, so consume in moderation and with great enjoyment!

You’ll need a blender to get the cashews, dates and banana smooth. If you have a nut allergy, you can substitute the cashews for chia seeds. They help with good fats and to create a lovely thick smoothie.

 

What you’ll need:

2 Tablespoons raw cashews

4 dates (soaked in water for 10 minutes if you have time)

1 Tablespoon maple syrup

1 frozen banana

2 cups coconut milk

1 cup ice cubes

Pinch salt

 

In a blender process the cashews, dates, maple syrup and banana until smooth. Add the coconut milk, ice cubes and salt and process until smooth.
