For a long time I craved creamy hot chocolate but being intolerant to milk and trying to avoid processed sugar, I felt like it was beyond me. One winter's day I was desperate for chocolate so I started experimenting with making my own, dairy free, no processed sugar hot chocolate. Here's my super easy, super delicious, creamy hot chocolate recipe.
What you'll need:
2 Tablespoons raw cashews
4 Dates (if dried, soaked in water for 10 minutes if you have time)
2 Tablespoons maple syrup
1 Tablespoon raw cacao
2 cups coconut milk
In a blender puree the cashews, dates and maple syrup until smooth. Add the cacao and coconut milk and puree until smooth. Put the mixture into a saucepan and heat over low heat until hot. Serve and enjoy!
