Orange and Kale Smoothie

Getting more greens into your day is critical for great health. Greens help to alkalise your body. We know that when our body is acidic (from too much processed foods, meat and grains), we are providing fertile ground for disease to take hold. Greens help to address that PH balance and are also wonderful antioxidants. Protein and some fats oxidise at medium to high temperatures. Greens help to clean up our insides and bring us greater health. A green smoothie will also give you a great boost of essential vitamins and minerals in a form that is easy for your body to digest.


For this vitamin packed drink you will need:

1 stalk of kale, leaves removed and stalk discarded

1/2 an orange, peel removed and discarded

small amount of fresh mint leaves

6 cubes of ice

1/2 cup of water


Put the kale, orange and mint in a blender and whiz until smooth. Add the ice and whiz until the ice is crushed. Add the water and whiz until combined.
