This is a page just for kids! I'm Ellie (Louise is my mum) and I love great food! I like to make yummy food that kids like to eat. Here are some of my favourite recipes.
Sometimes I don't feel like eating breakfast so I make a smoothie instead.
My favourite at the moment is banana and cinnamon but I make lots of different ones. I like to use frozen banana because it makes my smoothie thick. I peel and cut into pieces a banana and lay it out in a container in the freezer.
My banana smoothie recipe is:
Half a banana
200ml of milk (sometimes I use coconut milk and sometimes I use normal milk)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
I put it in the blender and blend it until it is smooth. If I am really hungry I add handful of oats.
One of my favourite breakfasts on the weekend is pancakes. It took me a bit of practice to learn how to flip them but now I think it is easy.
I like to use maple syrup on top and sometimes I put blueberries on my pancakes too. My dad likes lemon and sugar, we have a lemon tree so I pick the lemons fresh. My mum buys rapadura sugar because it is the only sugar that still has its minerals in it. She won't let me use very much but I do think it is yummy!
I use spelt flour because my belly hurts a bit when I eat normal flour. Spelt flour tastes the same as regular flour but it is called an ancient grain so it has not been changed the same as regular wheat has been changed.
Here is my recipe:
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of milk
2 tablespoons olive oil
Whisk everything together until smooth. Pour 1/3 cup of mixture into frying pan and cook until the top bubbles. I usually get three onto one pan and I keep the heat about medium so that they don't cook too fast.
I stack them on top of each other to keep warm while I cook the rest!
